Message from the CPAC Chair

Hello everyone,

At the May CPAC meeting, we took the opportunity to thank many of our volunteers (see a complete list of Thank You's on our Volunteer page), but we want to give extra recognition to all the hard work and dedication demonstrated this year by Susan Chow. Susan has been a tireless advocate for the Literacy Centres here on the North Shore that help our Grade 3 students with reading delays, and she recently represented the Cleveland PAC to put forward a resolution to seek more funding for these terrific centres at a provincial level. We have the full story here.

As it was our last CPAC meeting of the current school year, we also voted in the CPAC team for 2013/2014. I am happy to say that almost the entire CPAC Exec team agreed to stay on and continue with the great work we started this year. While we will miss Parvin Hooshi (Grade 7 Rep) and Tracy Bosch (DPAC Rep) as they move on to other endeavours, we are pleased to welcome Susan to our team as a member-at-large, as well as Joanna O'Callaghan and Sarah Thomas as next year's Co-Grade 7 Reps. The entire list is now up on our Executive Contacts page.

And finally we want to thank all the volunteers who helped pull together our first Mother Son 'Extreme Evening' last Thursday. A fantastic time was had by all and we look forward to making this an annual event.

Have a good week,
Laurel
